    I still like makeup…

And I have to say, my collection has grown a wee bit since my last post on the subject.

Not significantly, but it has grown. It’s been about a year, and I have to say I have used things up (proud of myself!), and replaced some things, but I tend to repurchase a lot of the same products over and over.

Now although I still think this is pretty modest, my cousin’s eyes bulged a bit when she said, “this is ALL your makeup?” But then again, I guess size is relative. Your thoughts?

Until next time, have a nice day!

    I like makeup...

    I really do. I think it's fun.

About a year ago I discovered the YouTube beauty community and was instantly captivated by all of the reviews, hauls, and tutorials.  It was fascinating to see so many women (and men) of various ages and complexions contributing in various fashions to this almost secret community. They have all sorts of tags that go around, and you can learn really interesting and personal things about some of the "YouTube beauty gurus." Some of them get paid for their opinions, and many are sent free items from various companies to test, review, and promote on their channels. As an observer, it didn't take long for the desire to contribute and try my hand at making videos crept up. It seemed like lots of fun. But really thinking about it, I'm not entirely sure whether or not I would want to keep up with the demands of a channel. It seems like a lot of work, and that interferes with my sleep time...

The thing I find to be most striking, and that which still manages to amaze, and keep me searching for more, is the plethora of makeup collection videos. Some of these collections boggle my little mind. I can't imagine ever having the amount of stuff these people have. Now granted, some are professional makeup artists, and what they show is part of a kit to be used on  clients, some of the massive personal collections are a bit insane...in my own personal opinion that is.

Logically, I just wouldn't be able to justify it for myself. Makeup is perishable, and always has some sort of expiration date. And with the amount that some have, even packing on a full cake face every day, how could you possibly use everything up before it goes rancid?

Unless, of course, that is of no concern. Makeup is expensive. Even drug store things are creeping up in price. A single mascara can cost anything from around $5 on sale to upwards of $30. It just seems to me like a waste of time, space, and product.

That's my stash. I think it's a fairly humble collection. I have some variety, but I do wear everything that I own.

Regardless, I can't help but be fascinated by the collection videos though. For whatever reason, I find them to be incredibly interesting. What about you? Are you a contributor to the YouTube beauty community or just a spectator? What's your opinion on the subject? And what about your collection? I would love to see yours! Have you used everything you have? Curious I am....

Until next time, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
