    Goodwill Hauling

Merry day after Christmas. I guess technically that isn't politically correct because it doesn't address everyone, but it is the holiday that my family and I celebrate. Regardless of what you and yours celebrate, I hope that you and your loved ones had a safe and happy time together. I’m quite enjoying my vacation.

Anyway, a few days ago I went to the Goodwill on the hunt for picture frames. I spent $15 for 5 which is what you could easily pay for one.

The 2 big ones were only $4.50 each and already have mats in them. I haven’t taken them apart to check their condition, but I’ll see if they’re usable. They all need to be cleaned up a bit, and sprayed black (except for the one on the far right). I’m happy with the selection though.

I found another Goodwill store that is not too far from my home, and I plan on checking that one out soon…I need more frames. I plan on rearranging and possible relocating my current wall of frames. I still need to change out the type printouts I made and intended to be temporary…but I am in no rush. I’m on vacation.

    Happy Monday all!

Talk to you in the next one.

    Picture Perfect Frame Experiment

I had some extra spray paint leftover from my chair project, so I decided to see if how well it would work for my goodwill picture frames.

The two large darker frames were the only ones made of wood, and those were the two that I was most concerned about. The other ones were plastic. As it turned out though, the plastic spray paint worked fine on all of the frames.

I have a little, empty hallway that I wanted to decorate with frames so I played with a few different configurations until I found one I liked.

I thought about removing the backs and hanging the empty frames for a look like this one from décor pad, because it is pretty,

but I don’t think it would be as impactful or personal as I would like. So, I dashed off to my computer (and yes, I dashed) to play with some fonts and fun sayings and chopped em’ up with my paper cutter.

For now, these will just be placeholders until I carve out a bit of time to make something pretty, and cut a few mats.

Maybe I’ll turn a few into mirrors…or chalkboards…or play with typography and have them properly printed…

for now however, these take up the space, and I am content.

And excuse the strangeness going on on the tiny window in the background…the windows are tiny, and I don’t know what to do with them at the moment.

    Goodbye until next time!

    Good Will Hunting

A few days ago, I stopped by the local Goodwill in search of a desk, and a couple of end tables. Although I didn’t find what I was looking for, I did stumble upon a few picture frames.

I got 10 frames for under $7 total, which is a complete steal considering you could easily pay that much for just one. I have a few project ideas in mind, as well as an empty hallway waiting to meet them.

I also found a nice pair of small crates, $1 for  both. P4141097

I think with a little paint and some fabric, they’ll be great for storage in the super hero’s room. Off to plan projects.

    Until next time,
