    Living/Dining Room: Making Progress

As I’ve mentioned before, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do about my dining room chairs, but in the end, I figured since none of my furniture really goes together, and my Kivik is white, it would probably be best if all of my chairs were white.

This time, both chairs were packaged together, which was good because it eliminated a lot of the waste that I had the first time.

Please ignore the pictures on the wall, I haven’t quite figured this room out.

I have another round of musical furniture coming up soon, and that rug needs to be replaced. But I am making some progress. And it’s beginning to feel like Christmas around here. I even put a few presents under the tree.

My mom sent a few more ornaments, so my little one decided to decorate the bottom portion of the tree in red…at least they aren’t all on the same branch.

Wishing you and your family happy holidays!

    Tales of a Traveling Bookcase

Mr. Lack-a-like has been busy over the course of this month. He and I had been having a bit of a difficult time trying to determine where he would live. So over the past few weeks, he’s traveled to various parts of the house in an effort to find his semi-permanent home.

I think the issue began when I pushed my experiment up next to him…

In my defense though, as handsome as I think he is, the wall looked a little naked with him sitting there all by himself.

At any rate, his travelling began. His first stop was my bedroom. I had an empty corner that was unoccupied, so I let him stay there. But after the third day, he had to go.

And since my bedside table is being used in my bedroom, I let Mr. Lack-a-like try his hand at holding down the entryway.

But he was much too tall and skinny to do the job to my liking,

so his wandering continued. We were giving up hope, and were on our way back to where we started when he suggested the empty wall in the kitchen.

It wasn’t the worst stop on his journey, but I have other plans for that particular spot.

In the end, we found a home for poor Mr. Lack-a-like,

    right in between my desk,

and the Kivik (which is about due for a new cover).

In the end, both I and Mr. Lack-a-like were pleased with his new home.

And that is all for now. Talk to you in the next one!

    Lack Table Lookalike?

Yesterday I went to Target to get paper towels, and left with an over flowing shopping cart full of stuff that I wanted needed.

I’ve been debating bedside tables for my super hero’s bedroom, and decided to look around the furniture section at Target to see if they had anything affordable that would fill the space.

I was about to leave when I came across this little table. It was only $15!

So I tossed it into my already loaded chopping cart.

It came wrapped in plastic and the legs come with screws attached.

So like the sticker on the front says, “no tools needed!”

It really isn’t a complicated assembly project, so it was up and in use in under 5 minutes.

It has a max load capacity of 48 pounds according to the directions, which I personally don’t believe. It’s very light, and although it is sturdy, I’d be nervous if my little one (at 36 pounds) decided to stand on it for too long.

Overall, for 15 dollars, it is pretty much what I expected it to be. There are a few spots where the faux wood strips are already starting to peel back, and I’m not sure if that’s because I wasn’t careful about the one that I chose, but regardless, I don’t expect this to last long. Maybe a year or 2, and that isn’t bed for the price. For the moment though, it does what I need it to do, and it’s kinda cute.

That’s all for now. Talk to you in the next one!
