    A Week of Planning

I have an empty corner in my bedroom right beside my dresser that needs…something. I haven’t quite figured out what, exactly, but I’ve been trying desperately to figure it out.

Initially I thought I wanted an armoire there, but my dresser is massive.

To add something else massive will just make the room look and feel smaller and overstuffed. I thought perhaps a pretty upholstered armchair, and a side table would occupy the space nicely, or even a bookshelf on the adjacent wall beside the giant window…but who knows.

I love Serena and Lily. I mean I’ve never actually purchased anything from there, but still. They have very beautiful pictures, and amazing looking fabrics. I’m not usually crazy about the furniture they sell, but, I saw the Hayworth Shelf, and nearly jumped for joy.image

But then I saw the price, and at almost $1300, not including tax or shipping, the joy was replaced with a raised brow, and the side eye…

Then I found a similar one at Home Decorators, for about $400, again before tax or shipping, and I was seriously considering it,

But my dresser is so big. And my bed is also very big. To add another tall piece like that would only compete and look ridiculous. I even tried out a bookshelf in the space just to be sure. MAJOR FAIL. Case in point: the recent traveling bookcase.

I think a simple chair and small side table would be more fitting. Now it’s just a matter of finding one I love that won’t break the bank.

Talk to you in the next one!
