    CB2 Slim Chair Review

Since I have a table to eat at now, I figured, I might need some chairs. When it came to choosing the type of seating I wanted, I had quite the little internal battle.

In the end though, I settled on the Slim Chair from CB2. I ordered 2. Each chair came in its own gigantic, incredibly lightweight box. The shipping was so fast. 2 days after I placed my order, with regular shipping, my chairs were at my door.

Each chair comes in 2 pieces. One of my chairs was missing one of the little white stoppers, but it didn’t matter. Both chairs are stable, sturdy, and easy to wipe down after a messy super hero’s meal. There was a ton of bubble wrap.

I deflated it all, smashed it down, and added it to my pile of stuff to recycle. It seemed a bit like overkill because the chairs fit so well into the boxes…but what can you do.

All in all, it is a sexy little chair. I recommend. At some point, maybe I’ll get 2 more, but I haven’t decided on my chair situation as of yet.

    That’s all folks!

Benjamin Moore Natura Meets Elle’s Dining Room Table

I’ve been exploring my zero VOC paint options lately. To date, I’ve only tried Mythic paint on my son’s bed and toybox, and the Benjamin Moore Natura range for my dining room table.

I have to say, of the 2, the Natura is my favorite. The consistency is thick, and I find that I don’t get the paint drips that I got with the Mythic paint, but it also spreads so nicely. There’s almost no odor at all. The brush strokes that I did see were minor.

I bought 3 pints. One pint of 3 colors; kendall charcoal, banana yellow, and chantilly lace. For the table I used the kendall charcoal.

My only complaint is that the sticker on the front of the can looks like something I could print out on a low quality desktop printer, and stick on with an Elmer's glue stick. But then, maybe that’s the company’s effort to be more “green.” But then again, it’s what’s on the inside that matters most, right? And inside, the stuff is good.

The picture above was taken after one coat of the Zinsser water based primer, and one coat of the paint. I followed up with a second second coat, and a two coats of Minwax polyacrylic. The color ended up being a rich, cool grey. I love it! And that is all, for now.

Talk to you in the next one!

    Soo, I made a table.

If you read the post about my desk, or even just looked at the pictures, you may have noticed that there was a bunch a wood on the floor. Well, I saw the plans for the farmhouse table on the Ana White site, and thought, “hmmmm…I could do that.” And so I did.

I’m not big enough to move a whole table from my garage into my dining area on my own so I chopped the wood up in the garage, did some light sanding, and then assembled the table inside.

My version is highly modified, quite a bit shorter with slightly different legs.

It needs some editing, but I’m proud of it, and I love it because I made it myself. And that is all.

Talk to you in the next one!
