    Pretty Pinked Nails

At the moment, I’m completely obsessed with pastel pink and purpley colors (yes I said purpley, no it isn’t a real word, and so what Smile with tongue out). I’ve always had an issue finding the right colors for my skin tone. Particularly ones that don’t look strange, juvenile, or nauseating, but I’ve managed to assemble a team of colors to handle the task of prettying up my nails.

Pictured above, from left to right: Nice is Nice by Essie, Pokerface by Nars, Velocity and Jan by Illamasqua, Lavender Marquis by Sally Hansen, then French Affair and Pink Diamond, also by Essie. It was an overcast day, so the lighting was not so great…and as a result the colors are not all true to life.

Eventually I plan to add pictures of them actually on my nails, but trust me they’re gorgeous!

And for some added fun, I have these top coats that I play with from time to time.

The holographic top coat by china glaze that enhances nail colors and creates an awesome rainbow effect; black shatter by OPI makes cool crackle designs, matte about you makes whatever color you’re wearing instantly matte, and the ghoulish glow makes your nails glow in the dark! And you could even combine them all for a really interesting effect!

Typically, I paint my nails a couple of times a week, so I do a good bit of experimenting and color mixing. I have my eye on a few more, but what are your favorite light pinks and purples?

See you in the next one!!
