    the 4th Birthday Wishlist–Matthew’s Picks

Although my son’s birthday isn’t until the end of October, he and I have already started planning.

So far, he’s decided that he’s decided that he wants to have a super hero themed party, and that he will dress up as Wolverine. Interestingly enough though, that’s a costume he doesn’t own. With a Superman option, two different Batman suits, a red Spiderman costume, and a black one; Iron man, and the War machine, Wolverine is the one he wants to go with. Oh, and also, according to him, I’m supposed to be the Green Lantern.

Over the past few months, I’ve been making a list of the things he’s REALLY wanted from the toy store, but I haven’t gotten; mainly so that  I’ll know what to look for when Christmas comes around, but also if any friend or relative asks me for gift ideas.

I hadn’t realized just how long the list had gotten until now.image

The Iron Man 2 Rolling Battle Headquarters Vehicle ($30) has been on the list for a the longest. I never bought it because I thought he’d break it, which would have been a waste of $30. Since he’s gotten a lot better with his things, it’s a cute little set that I think we’d have fun with.

My son loves the Super Hero Squad Show. I actually like it too. Complete silliness with an awesome theme song. We’ve managed to collect almost all of the main characters, but there are a few that he wants, but I’ve put off getting. My biggest gripe with the sets is that almost all of them come with another Iron Man toy. The Heli Carrier ($30  Toys r Us exclusive), Action Figure 2-Pack with MODOK ($8,) Hover Car with Nick Fury ($20), Battle For Doom's Castle set with Dr. Doom ($20),

the Iron Man Touch Tech truck ($30), and the Iron Man War Mechs 3 Pack ($10) all come with a little Iron Man toy…which would be fine if they were all different, but they aren’t. Under normal shopping circumstances, I just can’t justify the purchase, but for special occasions, making the exception is less of a pain.

LEGO Batman for Nintendo ($20) is probably the only game that he asks for that I haven’t bought. We already have LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, and the first LEGO Harry Potter, both of which I really enjoy, and I think since we always play videogames together and I’m not really interested in this one, I just never got it.

Fisher-Price Imaginext Adventures DC Super Friends Batman Bat Cave ($45), and Joker's Funhouse ($30) are both huge and we really don’t have a place to put them right now.

He wants a car that he can drive like “a grownup.” And not just any car, he wants a truck. Specifically, the 12 Volt Mercedes Benz G55 Silver 2 Seater Ride On ($340). To me though, it just seems a little frivolous, and when I say a little, I mean a lot. I used to have a little Power Wheels jeep when I was little, but…sheesh! It’s cute though, so I guess we’ll see.

So far, that’s all that’s on his wish list. What do you think? Too much? Is it fairly normal for a going on 4 year old only child? I’m interested in the feedback.

That’s all for now though. Talk to you in the next one!
